Last week we had the amazing opportunity to go on our very first over night camp. We were all so excited ... our parents were as well! We headed off early on Wednesday morning to catch a ferry to Milson Island Sport and Recreation Centre. Milson Island had so many fun things for us to do. Most of the activities were new to us all and some of us had to conquer a few fears before we could have a go at the fun. We had a go at kayaking, archery, fencing, raft building, a ropes challenge course and the amazing giant swing. On our first night we played games in the enormous Rec Hall and on the second night we had a disco outside!
Each of us had a turn in the dining hall at either serving the meals, sweeping the floors, washing the dishes (which proved to be a lot of fun) or packing up the hall at the end of the meal. There was so much food on offer and we were allowed to eat as much as we could fit in. The lucky teachers got to sit outside on the deck and enjoy the amazing views.
Everyone at Milson Island were so friendly. We made friends with some other kids from another school who were staying on the island as well. Friday came too quickly and we eventually had to leave to board the ferry for home.
Have a look at the 2 videos below to see some of the fun things that we got up to on camp.
